About Total War: WARHAMMER III

About this game

The coming conflict will engulf all. Will you conquer your daemons? Or command them? It's time to find out with your Total War: WARHAMMER III Steam PC key. In this action strategy from renowned developer Creative Assembly, you'll lead one of four initial races in a gripping war for survival.

CAUSE FOR CHAOS

Far beyond the world and its petty wars there exists a dimension of pure, malevolent magic: The Realm of Chaos. It is a terrible place, incomprehensible to the mortal mind. It whispers promises of power, but to behold it is to be seduced by it.

To relinquish your soul to it... to become it.

CHOOSE YOUR ARMY. LEAD YOUR PEOPLE

The four Ruinous Powers rule over this place, ever seeking to slip their bonds and engulf the world in a tide of daemonic corruption. Nurgle, the plague god; Slaanesh, the lord of excess; Tzeentch, the changer of ways; and Khorne, the god of blood and slaughter.

On the border between the worlds, two mighty kingdoms stand sentinel: the stern warriors of Kislev and the vast empire of Grand Cathay. But each is beset by its own trials, and now both have cause to cross the threshold and send their armies into the Realm of Chaos.

The world stands on a precipice, and a single push will plunge it into cataclysm. There is one who schemes to achieve just that, an ancient figure who desires nothing less than to wield supreme power. But to succeed, he will need a champion…

Choose from nine playable Legendary Lords that will lead your race into battle, and enjoy a wider selection of individual races than any previous Total War: WARHAMMER core title.

Brand New Legendary Lord: The Daemon Prince!

  • Rise in the name of Chaos Undivided as the immortal Daemon Prince, leading the Legion of Chaos. Create your own unique daemonic design, and unleash the combined power of the four Chaos Gods upon your enemies!
  • Earn Daemonic Glory, a currency specific to the Daemon Prince.
  • Trade your Daemonic Glory for new attributes, weapons, spells and stat boosts.
  • Customise your own unique combination of artefacts, abilities and appendages.
  • Create terrifying armies from Daemonic units of each of the four Chaos Gods.
  • Choose to pledge allegiance to one of the Chaos Gods or remain loyal to Chaos Undivided!

Amazing!

This game is the perfect example of an evolution in a sequel. It included more of everything. New races, new mechanics, new map, new Quality of life changes, better UI. I wish all game developers could do it like that, since so many sequels out there drop the ball after a fantastic prequel.

A more involved final part to this trilogy, with greater strategic options for sieges and tactical end game play. Alos greater multiplayer options and the forthcoming complete map spanning all three games!

This game has the potential to become the best Total War game ever, however there are still quite a few flaws to it. Ranged still feels the only viable way to go (in the early game) and factions that have no range such as nurgle will be torn apart by ranged based factions. The current campaign map is so objective driven that you cant miss an objective once and paint the map or you will be out of the race. Also the optimisation is so terrible that if you don't install it on a ssd you will spend more time waiting then paying the game. However this is still a Total War Warhammer game and the new factions on this game are unique and fun to play/roleplay as. I would recommend this game but only when the Mortal empires campaign comes out as that is the true embodiment of Total War (will require you to buy Total War Warhammer 1 but I've seen it on sale here for like £3).

I would highly recommend this game for Total war Warhammer fans! but if you're not a fan, maybe wait a bit for more content and a few more optimization patches.

I love the game up till now, the factions are great additions to the franchise and I can't wait till mortal empires. My only gripe is that it seems to work way worse than TWW2. I have both games installed as of now, but TWW3 consistently runs slower, especially during the prologue. The game has less FPS all the while running on lower graphical settings. If this wasn't the case it would get 5 stars, but until they optimise it better for non-optimal PC's it gets a 4. Moreover I have had problems while installing and updating the game and so have my friends. Because of this, we couldn't play as often as we wanted to. This of course is a problem because we really want to play this game!

Overall a great final installment to the Warhammer TW trilogy. Surprised to see it run so well on a pretty aged setup (RX 480 bottlenecking). Pros: + Great flavour for all playable factions. Daemon factions especially feel very thematic. + Cool story driven prologue and campaign. + Running at 60+ FPS battles on medium (with some options on ultra, high or low, a mixed bag). + Balance seems alright (Skarbrand is a bit too powerful, pretty much can turn him into a solo army killer, just finished a campaign on legendary with him without even breaking a sweat or losing a single fight.) + Sieges are amazing, so much better than the previous installments, the supply feature that lets you build more defenses as needed really saved me every single time, even though I was outnumbered even 5-1. Attacking is also more punishing if you don't think it through. + Realms of chaos are incredibly well done, very thematic and intimidating. Daemon Soul battles are really really intense. Cons: - Campaign map, although looks great, has pretty bad performance (Less than 30fps at most times). - Campaign can put a lot of pressure on you as it's a race (somehow similar to Warhammer TW 2, except for the fact that you can't "intercept" final battle if you lose the race for the Daemon Souls). - AI sometimes wonky on sieges. Overall a great game which will surely get more polished with each DLC. Looking forward to the Immortal Empires map! Rating: 9.5/10 Should you buy? Yes, definitely.

I think it's a great game but I haven't played it myself yet, im waiting for the mega map merger so that I can play all 3 on 1 epic map, now thats the real beauty of warhammer. In current state it's more like a tutorial just to introduce new factions. Also i hope seeing the success of warhammer trilogy Creative Assembly will now work on Warhammer 40k Total War, now that would be epic!

Probably the best Total War game so far, with new mechanics and quality of life changes that improve the battle feeling and the campaign map experience.
